What you can do with Case Converter
- Twelve case styles
- UPPER CASE, lower case, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE, dot.case, aLtErNaTiNg and iNVERSE cASE.
- Smart title case
- Keeps short words like a, of, and or the lowercase unless they start or end the title or follow a colon, and leaves brand names like iPhone alone.
- Developer naming styles
- Splits words on spaces, punctuation and existing camelCase boundaries, so myVariableName converts cleanly to snake_case or kebab-case.
- Line by line
- Programming cases are applied to each line separately, so you can convert a whole list of variable or file names in one go.
- One-click copy
- Every result row is clickable. The converted text is copied straight to your clipboard, ready to paste wherever you need it.
- Unicode aware
- Conversion works with accented and non-Latin letters such as é, ñ, Greek or Cyrillic, not just plain English A to Z.
Title case vs sentence case and programming naming styles
Title case and sentence case are the two styles people mix up most. Title case capitalizes the major words of a heading and is standard for book titles and many US news headlines. Style guides such as AP and Chicago differ on details, but all keep articles, short conjunctions and short prepositions lowercase in the middle of a title. Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns. Google and many UX writing guides recommend it for interface text and headings because it reads more naturally and is easier to apply consistently.
Programming languages have their own conventions. JavaScript and Java use camelCase for variables and PascalCase for classes, Python uses snake_case for functions and CONSTANT_CASE for constants, and URLs, CSS classes and file names usually use kebab-case. When converting, the tool first splits the input into words using spaces, underscores, hyphens and capital-letter boundaries, then joins them again in the target style. Sentence case can't detect proper nouns, so names and acronyms may need a quick manual fix afterward.
Frequently asked questions
Is the text I convert kept private?
Yes. Conversion happens instantly in your browser using JavaScript string functions. Your text is never uploaded or stored, so you can safely convert code, emails or confidential documents. Closing the tab clears everything you typed.
Which title case rules does it follow?
It capitalizes every word except common short words such as a, an, the, and, but, or, for, of, in, on, to and with, unless they are the first or last word or follow a colon or period. That matches most major style guides for everyday headlines.
Why didn't some words change in Title Case?
Words that already contain a capital letter after the first character, like iPhone, eBay or McDonald, are left as they are so brand names aren't broken. Email addresses and URLs are skipped too. If your text is entirely in capitals, every word is converted.
How do I convert text to camelCase or snake_case?
Paste your text and click the camelCase or snake_case row. Spaces, hyphens, underscores and punctuation are treated as word breaks, and existing camelCase is split as well, so user-id, User ID and userId all become userId or user_id.
Can I convert a list of names at once?
Yes. The programming styles work line by line, so a column of labels pasted from a spreadsheet becomes a column of snake_case or kebab-case names. Text styles like UPPER CASE and Title Case also keep your line breaks intact.
