How to add a watermark to an image
- Drop one or more images into the box.
- Choose Text and type your watermark (for example © Your Name), or choose Logo image and drop a PNG or SVG logo.
- Pick one of nine positions or tick Tile across the whole image, then adjust size, opacity, margin and rotation.
- Click through the thumbnails to check each photo, choose a format, and click Download.
What you can do with Add Text / Watermark to Image
- Text or logo
- Stamp text in Sans, Display, Serif, Mono or Impact with color, bold and drop shadow, or use your own logo with transparency.
- Nine-point positioning
- Place the watermark in any corner, edge or the center, with a margin slider that keeps it a set distance from the border.
- Tiled watermark
- Repeat the mark diagonally across the whole image with adjustable spacing, which is much harder to crop or edit out.
- Opacity and rotation
- Set opacity from 5 to 100% and rotate up to 90 degrees either way for a subtle or a strong stamp.
- Batch watermarking
- Every image gets the same watermark scaled to its own size, and all results download together as a ZIP.
Watermarking tips: placement, opacity and tiling
A watermark tells people who made an image and discourages reuse without credit. A small corner mark at 50 to 70 percent opacity is common for portfolios and social posts because it stays out of the way. For proofs you send to clients, or stock images you show before purchase, a tiled diagonal watermark is more effective: it covers the whole frame, so it can't be removed with a simple crop. Size is set as a percentage of the image width, so the watermark looks the same on photos of different resolutions.
For a logo watermark, a PNG or SVG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result; a JPG logo brings its white box with it. A white mark with the shadow option stays readable on both light and dark photos. Keep the original, unwatermarked files somewhere safe, because the watermark is baked into the pixels of the exported copy and can't be removed later. No watermark is impossible to defeat, but a visible, well-placed one makes casual copying much less attractive.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded when I add a watermark?
No. The watermark is drawn onto each image on a canvas in your browser, and the files, including the ZIP for batches, are created on your device. Your photos and logo are never sent to a server.
Can I watermark many photos at once?
Yes. Drop as many images as you like. The same text or logo settings are applied to each one, scaled to its size, and you can click any thumbnail to preview it. Clicking Download saves them all as one ZIP file.
How do I add a logo instead of text?
Switch the toggle at the top of the panel to Logo image and drop your logo file into the small box. PNG or SVG with transparency works best. Use the Size slider to scale it and Opacity to make it subtle.
Will the watermark reduce image quality?
The images stay at their original resolution. PNG output is lossless, while JPG and WebP are saved at 92% quality, which is visually very close to the original. Choose Same as input to keep each file's format.
Which watermark style is hardest to remove?
A tiled watermark at moderate opacity, rotated diagonally across the image, is the hardest to crop or retouch away. A single corner mark looks cleaner but can be cropped off easily. Tick Tile across the whole image and adjust the spacing to find a balance.
