How to rearrange pages in a PDF

  1. Drop a PDF into the box or click to select one; page thumbnails appear in a grid.
  2. Drag a page by its grip handle to move it to a new position.
  3. Use the rotate button to turn a page 90 degrees, or the trash button to delete it.
  4. Use Rotate all, Reverse or Reset if needed, then click Save PDF and download.

What you can do with Organize Pages

Visual page thumbnails
Every page is rendered as a thumbnail, so you can see exactly which page you are moving, rotating or removing.
Drag to reorder
Move pages anywhere in the grid with a mouse or by touch using the grip handle. The grid scrolls while you drag.
Delete unwanted pages
Remove blank pages, duplicates or pages you don't want to share. The page count updates as you go.
Per-page rotation
Turn individual scanned pages that came out sideways or upside down, or rotate every page at once.
Reverse and reset
Flip the entire page order in one click, useful for scans fed backward, or reset to the original layout and start over.

Reordering and deleting PDF pages without quality loss

This page organizer works on a copy of your PDF in browser memory. Thumbnails are drawn with Mozilla's pdf.js, and when you save, pdf-lib builds a new document by copying the original pages in your chosen order. Because the pages are copied rather than rendered to images, the saved file keeps selectable text, sharp vector graphics and full-resolution images. Rotation is stored as a page setting, the same way desktop PDF readers do it, so turning a page does not degrade it.

Rearranging pages is the fix for a lot of everyday problems: a duplex scan that interleaved fronts and backs wrongly, an appendix that should come before the index, a signature page that needs to move to the end, or a few blank sheets the scanner picked up. If you are combining several files, merge them first with Merge PDF and then fine-tune the page order here. To pull pages out into a separate file instead of deleting them, use Split PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is it private to reorder PDF pages here?

Yes. Your PDF is rendered and rebuilt locally by your browser. The thumbnails, the new page order and the saved file all stay on your device, and no part of the document is uploaded to a server.

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

Load the PDF, then click the trash icon under each page you want to remove. The counter shows how many pages remain. Click Save PDF to download a copy without those pages. Your original file is not changed.

Can I undo a change?

There is no step-by-step undo, but the Reset button restores the original order, rotation and any deleted pages so you can start again. Nothing is saved until you click Save PDF.

Does reordering pages work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. On touch screens, press and drag the grip icon in the top-left corner of a page card to move it. Rotate and delete buttons work with a tap. Long documents render thumbnails one by one, so give big files a moment.

Will rearranging pages reduce quality?

No. The original page content is copied into the new file unchanged. Text stays selectable, vector graphics stay sharp, and images and fonts are not recompressed, so the saved PDF looks exactly like the original.
