Visual electronic signatures vs digital signatures
This tool adds a visual electronic signature: an image of your handwritten or typed signature stamped onto the page. That is what most everyday paperwork needs, such as rental applications, permission slips, offer letters, invoices and NDAs. Drawn signatures are trimmed automatically to remove empty space and saved as transparent PNGs, so they sit cleanly on a signature line. The typed styles include Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Sacramento, Caveat and Homemade Apple.
A visual signature is not the same as a certificate-based digital signature, which uses a cryptographic ID to prove who signed and that the file was not changed afterward. If a contract, government form or bank specifically requires a digital or qualified signature, use the signing service they specify. In the US and EU, simple electronic signatures are generally valid for ordinary agreements, but check the requirements for your document. Because signing here happens offline, keep a copy of the signed file for your records.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to sign a PDF here?
Yes. Your signature and your document are processed only in your browser. The PDF is not uploaded, and your signature image is not saved anywhere after you close the page. Typed signature fonts are downloaded from a font CDN, but your name and document are not sent with them.
Is a signature added this way legally binding?
It is a simple electronic signature, which many jurisdictions, including the US (ESIGN Act) and EU (eIDAS), accept for ordinary agreements. It is not a certificate-based digital signature, so documents that legally require one need a dedicated signing service.
Can I sign a PDF on my phone?
Yes. Draw your signature with your finger on the pad, load the PDF from your files, tap the page to place it, and drag to fine-tune. The signed PDF downloads to your phone.
Can I add my initials to every page?
Yes. Create your initials as the signature, then use the page arrows to move through the document and click once on each page where they should go. Every placement is applied when you click Sign & download.
Can I fill in text fields with this tool?
No. This tool places signatures only. Fillable form fields can usually be completed in your browser's built-in PDF viewer or a free reader; save that filled copy, then sign it here.
