What you can do with Images to PDF
- Multiple image formats
- Accepts JPG, PNG and WebP, plus GIF and BMP, and puts every image on its own page of one PDF.
- Page size options
- Use A4 or US Letter for printing and forms, or Fit to image so each page matches the photo's proportions.
- Auto orientation
- Auto turns a page to landscape for wide images and portrait for tall ones, or you can force either orientation.
- Adjustable margins
- Choose no margin, small (10 mm) or large (20 mm). Images are centered and scaled to fit inside the margin.
- Phone photo rotation fixed
- JPGs from phones that rely on an EXIF rotation tag are straightened, so photos are not placed sideways.
- No recompression
- Standard JPG and PNG files are embedded as they are, so the PDF keeps the full quality of your images.
Image quality and page sizes for JPG to PDF
A JPG to PDF conversion here places each image on a separate PDF page. Regular JPG and PNG files are embedded byte for byte, without being recompressed, so the PDF is roughly the size of your images combined and looks identical to them. WebP, GIF and BMP files, which PDF cannot store directly, are converted to PNG first. On A4 (210 x 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) pages, each image is scaled to fill the space inside the margin while keeping its aspect ratio, so nothing is cropped or stretched.
Pick the page size based on what happens next. Choose A4 or Letter when the PDF will be printed or submitted to a form that expects a standard page, such as an application with scanned ID or receipts. Choose Fit to image for photo albums, screenshots and slides, where white borders would be distracting. If the finished PDF is too large to email because the photos are high resolution, run it through Compress PDF, or shrink the images first with the Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded when converting JPG to PDF?
No. Your images are read and placed into the PDF by your browser. The conversion happens on your device and the finished PDF is saved locally, so personal photos, scanned IDs and receipts are never sent to a server.
How do I combine multiple images into one PDF?
Select or drop all the images at once, or add more in several batches. Drag the thumbnails into the order you want the pages to appear, then click Create PDF. Every image becomes one page in a single PDF file.
Will converting images to PDF lower the quality?
Normally no. JPG and PNG files are embedded without recompression. Only WebP, GIF and BMP files are converted to PNG, which is lossless, and JPGs with an EXIF rotation tag are re-encoded at high quality to fix their orientation.
What page size should I choose?
Use A4 if you are outside North America or the recipient expects international paper, and US Letter for the US and Canada. Choose Fit to image when the PDF is for screen viewing and you want no white borders around each image.
Can I convert photos to PDF on my iPhone?
Yes. Open the page in Safari, tap the box and choose photos from your library or Files. Safari usually hands HEIC photos over as JPG automatically; if one will not load, convert it to JPG first.
